Clearly understand the effect on the individual when announcing change;

Communicate limitation on availability of redundancy;

Think of staff who are not exiting;

There is no one right way – each individual has a different perspective;

Company can provide service as well as external consultants;

Have a clear policy;

Communicate, communicate, communicate.
