| Formerly the state owned telecommunications company (known as Telecom Eireann), eircom was privatised in July 1999 when it was floated on the Dublin, London and New York stock exchanges. | ||||||||

| The eircom Resource Business (mobility centre) was established in 1997 as a result of the Telecom Partnership agreement and the Employee Share Ownership Plan (eircom employees now own 14.9 per cent of the shareholding of the company).
